PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying device, and an image forming apparatus for performing horizontal resist correction with high accuracy without being larger and without causing a fault that a recording medium is carried on skew due to carrying resistance regardless of thickness of the recording medium to be carried.SOLUTION: A second holding roller 32 is installed on an upstream side of a first holding roller 31. An operation for performing horizontal resist correction by moving the first holding roller 31 and the second holding roller 32 in a width direction while the first holding roller 31 and the second holding roller 32 hold a recording medium P on the basis of a positional deviation amount of horizontal resist detected by detection means 36 and an operation for performing horizontal resist correction by moving the first holding roller 31 in the width direction with the second holding roller 32 separated while holding the recording medium P with the first holding roller 31 on the basis of the positional deviation amount detected by the detection means 36 are switched in accordance with thickness of the recording medium P to be carried. |
