This clothes dryer comprises: a housing (1); a rotary drum (4) provided so as to be rotatable; a motor (7) that drives and rotates the rotary drum (4); a dehumidification unit that dehumidifies drying air to be supplied into the rotary drum (4); and a heating unit that heats the drying air dehumidified by the dehumidification unit. The clothes dryer also comprises: a case that houses the dehumidification unit and the heating unit, and that is provided with an inlet for letting the drying air flow in, the inlet being provided on the windward side of the dehumidification unit; an air circulation pathway (12) that circulates the drying air, which has been discharged from the rotary drum (4), through the case and to the rotary drum (4); a ventilating unit that sends air to the air circulation pathway (12); and a water-sprinkling unit (28) that removes foreign matters attached to the dehumidification unit. Further, the water-sprinkling unit (28) is constructed such that the ejection flow rate per unit width in a region where the flow rate of the drying air passing through the dehumidification unit is high is greater than the ejection flow rate per unit width in a region where the flow rate of the drying air passing through the dehumidification unit is low.
