PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance transducer that has a wide frequency band and high transmission/reception sensitivity.SOLUTION: A capacitance transducer 1 has cells and voltage applying means. The cells have: respective first electrodes; respective vibrating membranes 8 and 16 that include respective second electrodes facing the first electrodes across respective gaps 9 and 17; and a vibrating membrane support 10 that supports the vibrating membranes 8 and 16 in such a manner that the gaps 9 and 17 are formed. The voltage applying means applies voltage between the first electrodes and the second electrodes. The cells include: first cells 12 each having a vibrating membrane with a first spring constant; and second cells 19 each having a vibrating membrane with a second spring constant that is lower than the first spring constant. The voltage applying means includes: first voltage applying means 11 that applies voltage between the electrodes in the first cells 12; and second voltage applying means 18 that applies voltage between the electrodes in the second cells 19. The voltage applied by the first voltage applying means 11 is higher than the voltage applied by the second voltage applying means 18. |
