PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method by which a continuously producible complex for a carbon dioxide separation having high film strength can be produced.SOLUTION: There is provided the method of producing a complex for a carbon dioxide separation by which the complex for the carbon dioxide separation including a carbon dioxide separation layer on a support is produced. The method comprises: an imparting step of imparting onto a support application liquid for a carbon dioxide separation layer formation including a water absorbent polymer, an alkali metal salt, and a filler having a density lower than that of the alkali metal salt, a hardness of 2 or more in a new Mohs hardness, and a volume average particle diameter of 30% or less of thickness of the carbon dioxide separation layer; and a drying step of drying the application liquid for the carbon dioxide separation layer formation to obtain the carbon dioxide separation layer.
