<p>(A) Compsns. for oxidative hair-dyeing contain tetraamino- and/or diamino-dihydroxydiphenyls or -diphenyl ethers of formula (I): (where R1 is H or amino; R2 is amino or OH; R3 is H when R1 is amino and amino or OH when R1 is H, provided R2 is not = R3 and n is 0 or 1) or their inorganic or organic salts, as developers, and standard couplers for oxidn. hair dyes. (B) 2,2',5,5'-Tetraaminodiph enyl ether, (I') is claimed. Hair-dyes are used as cosmetic creams, emulsions, gels, or solns. contg. 0.2-4(1-3) wt. % coupler-developer combination. (I) have good solubility in water and stability to storage, are non-toxic and do not irritate skin. Good shades can be achieved by oxidative coupling with air-O2, but use of oxidising agents is necessary for achieving a hair-lightening effect in addn. to dyeing. Shades achieved range from light-brown to blue-black. Dyeings resist light, washing, wave-setting and rubbing and can be stripped easily with reducing agents.</p> |
