The invention relates to a method for removing chlorine from a gas flow I that contains oxygen and chlorine, wherein the gas flow I is fed to a lower section of a column K1 and a liquid hydrogen chloride flow II made available separately is fed to an upper section of the same column and the rising gaseous flow I is contacted with the descending liquid flow II, chlorine being condensated out of flow I and hydrogen chloride evaporating from flow II, a substantially chlorine-free gas flow III which contains hydrogen chloride and oxygen and a liquid flow IV which contains chlorine being obtained. |
