PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict degradation of optical performance when displacement of an optical axis is corrected.SOLUTION: A shake correction device with an imaging optical system including a correction lens movable in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis comprises: detection means for detecting shake applied to the shake correction device; determination means for determining a reference position for the correction lens; and drive means for driving the correction lens around the reference position so as to correct shake detected by the detection means. The determination determines the reference position such that, when the correction lens is located in a determined reference position, the correction lens corrects the displacement of the center of an imaging element, which photo-electrically converts incident light from the imaging optical system, from the optical axis within the range that the Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) of the imaging optical system is not smaller than a threshold value. |
