PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system which can realize excellent transmission speed.SOLUTION: A radio communication system comprises a plurality of base station devices and a mobile station device which communicates with the plurality of base station devices. The mobile station device comprises: necessity determination unit which determines necessity of carrier aggregation by consulting a communication state with a first base station device that is a base station device with which the mobile station device is communicating among the plurality of base stations; a cell search unit which searches for a communicable base station device if the necessity determination unit determines that it is necessary to perform carrier aggregation; and a carrier aggregation request unit which notifies the first base station of carrier aggregation request when the communicable base station device is detected in the search.
