PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing large amount of a modified hyaluronic acid synthase by deleting part of the amino acid sequence of hyaluronic acid synthase.SOLUTION: The method for producing a modified hyaluronic acid synthase (X) in which at least one of the transmembrane regions of a microorganism-derived class 1 hyaluronic acid synthase (A) is deleted includes: preparing an expression strain (M') by inserting a gene (a') described herein into a host (M), and culturing the expression strain (M'). The modified hyaluronic acid synthase produced by the method is also provided. The gene (a') is a gene where the gene corresponding to the transmembrane region which is deleted in (X) from (A) is deleted from a gene (a) which encodes (A). |
