<p>The building element 24 is made by sandwiching a layer of cut stone slip having flat opposite faces between layers of fabricated blocks, and cutting or splitting the stone slip to create two stone faced building elements. The blocks may be prefabricated and adhered to the slip or formed in situ against the slip. The elements may be cut into a variety of lengths or the same lengths. Also claimed is a kit of stone faced building elements for a wall comprising: a number of wall building elements each having a thin stone faced finished with a split face or an ashlar face and a backing of material to be cemented in place in a wall built with said elements. The elements have a common thickness and a course height chosen based on a single height or multiple heights. The element may have two faces of stone slip. The elements may be made by stacking several stone slips between several fabricated blocks and in some instances cutting the fabricated blocks.</p> |
