PURPOSE:To improve fail-safe function by detecting the variation of the engine load, and discriminating abnormality if the variation is below a predetermined value so as to use for control a set value between a maximum and a minimum in place of the value of the engine load. CONSTITUTION:A signal from a throttle opening degree sensor 44 is entered in an abnormality discrimimator 61; if the throttle opening degree is below a predetermined value, it is once discriminated to be abnormal, and the throttle opening degree of a desired transmission gear ratio detector 46 and the throttle opening degree of an engine torque calculating unit 52 are set to a set value, and in this condition, transmission and line pressure are controlled. When the accelerator is operated and the throttle opening degree becomes above the predetermined value, it is discriminated to be normal, and the output of the throttle opening degree sensor is used for control. Thus, it is once discriminated to be abnormal, and thereafter discrimination is executed again, so that fail-safe function can serve sufficiently. |
