PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an elastic member having excellent surface smoothness and having a porous silicone rubber elastic layer in which fine cells are more uniformly present.SOLUTION: The method includes the following steps. A step of injecting an emulsified siloxane mixture into a mold, the mixture containing: a polydiorganosiloxane having both molecular chain ends blocked by alkenyl groups and having no alkenyl group in a side chain of the molecular chain; a polydiorganosiloxane having two or more alkenyl groups in a side chain of a molecular chain; a polyorganosiloxane having at least two hydrogen atoms bonded to a silicon atom in one molecule; water; an inorganic thickener; and an emulsifier. A step of crosslinking the emulsified siloxane mixture in a cavity at a temperature lower than a boiling point of water to form a silicone rubber in a water-containing state. A step of heating the silicone rubber in a water-containing state to a temperature higher than a boiling point of water to form a porous silicone rubber elastic layer. Prior to the injection into the cavity, a shear stress of 200 Pa or more is imparted to the emulsified siloxane mixture. |
