PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable engagement and release of the engagement between an output shaft of a continuously variable transmission and an axle side by a small-sized clutch, and to smoothly engage the clutch whose engagement is released.SOLUTION: A dog clutch is provided for a secondary shaft serving as an output shaft of a CVT and a counter drive gear on an axle side. When a gear ratio γ of the CVT is less than a predetermined gear ratio γa upon a stop of a vehicle, the engagement of the dog clutch is released (S110) and the gear ratio γ is put into a state to be capable of increasing toward a target gear ratio γ*. The engagement of a forward clutch C1 of a forward-backward switching mechanism is released (S130), a backward brake B1 of forward-backward switching mechanism 35 is put into a partial engagement state (step S150), the rotation of the secondary shaft is stopped and an oil pressure to the dog clutch is put into a stand-by state (S170), the partial engagement state of the brake B1 is released and the dog clutch is engaged (S180 and S190), and a clutch C1 is engaged (S200). |
