PURPOSE: A heat pump system for an electric vehicle is provided to be equipped with a secondary heat exchanger using a driving motor and an electric heater as a heat source to heat refrigerant during a heating cycle. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump system for an electric vehicle includes a compressor (10) for compressing refrigerant, an indoor heat exchanger (20) for exchanging the heat of the refrigerant and indoor air, an expansion valve (30) which expands the refrigerant at a low temperature and pressure to output the refrigerant, an outside heat exchanger (40), which exchanges the heat of the refrigerant and the outside air, and a four-way valve (50), which is connected to the outdoor heat exchanger, the compressor and the indoor heat exchanger and reverses the flow of the refrigerant to convert a heat exchanging cycle into cooling and heating cycles. A controller supplies power to an electric heater when the temperature of the cooling water is below a set temperature and blocks the power to the electric heater when the temperature is above the set temperature, by comparing the temperature value of the cooling water outputted from a temperature sensor with the value set in advance. |
