A mobile terminal capable of performing control operation using near field communication. The terminal comprises: a communication unit for performing near field communication for a token prepared for near field communication; an application storage unit for storing an application for controlling operation of the mobile terminal according to a result of the near field communication for the token; an input unit for inputting a configuration command for operation, of the mobile terminal, performed by the application in advance corresponding to each token; and a control unit for the mobile terminal of performing operation according to the configuration command by the application as the token is recognized to be capable of communication by the communication unit. According to the above, convenience of use is remarkably increased since a preset operation by a user for the mobile terminal is automatically executed according to not a coordinate location but a functional location.
