The lamp has light sources (2,4), light-guiding element (6) with narrow side (62) and flat side (64) and light output surface (8). The light (L1) emitted from light source (2) is passed through narrow side of guiding element, and is made to leave guiding element through flat side. The light from guiding element is made to impinge on regions (A,B) of light output surface. The light-guiding element is comprised of another flat side (66) through which light (L2) from light source (4) is passed through, and then impinged on regions of light output surface.
