A circuit for driving an LCD device is provided to drive LCD panels having different operation modes by utilizing a gamma circuit for generating a gamma voltage corresponding to one gamma curve. A circuit for driving an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a controller(151), a shift register(152), a latch(153), inverters(166,167), a gamma reference unit(154), decoders(156,157), a multiplexer(158), and an output buffer(159). The controller outputs data signals corresponding to a control signal inputted from the outside. The shift register sequentially outputs the data signals. The latch stores the data signals outputted from the shift register. The inverters invert and output the data signals stored in the latch in response to a selection signal. The gamma reference unit supplies plural gamma voltages. The decoders select one of the gamma voltages in response to the data signals outputted from the inverters and output the selected gamma voltage. The multiplexer selects polarity of signals outputted from the decoders. The output buffer outputs signals selected in the multiplexer to a signal line. |
