<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The steady rest (1) has three rollers (2) arranged in a plane and comprising a middle holding element (3) and outer holding elements (30). Gripping arms of the outer holding elements are pivotable over a hinge pin (6), which is arranged in a steady rest body (5). The holding elements are adjustable by using an electromotor (7), where the middle holding element is rectilinearly adjustable relative to a workpiece. The holding elements are adjustable by a rod that is adjustable by a drive i.e. linear drive, which is realized by the electromotor. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Steady rest for central clamping of workpieces in an automatic machining center. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The holding elements are adjustable by the electromotor, so that the steady rest can be formed with fewer hydraulic components, and the need for using a pressure medium chamber and a pressure piston for displacing the holding elements can be eliminated, thus obtaining compact steady rest. The steady rest enables progressive automation of a production line to a user. The linear drive can be utilized in the steady rest in a simple and cost-effective manner.
