A method for recording three-dimensional images of loads comprises a process for attaining a spatially coded image of the entire load stack, and a process for deriving an image of the uppermost loads in the load stack from the spatially coded image. A target space, which contains the load, is subdivided into wedge-shaped measuring regions which are situated one above another, and spatial codes are assigned sequentially to the wedge-shaped regions. The result is a spatially coded image of the load stack. The image is recorded by a camera and comprises spatial codes as pixels. From each sequence of pixels in a predetermined direction within the spatially coded image, an image of the loads in the uppermost layer of the load stack is derived by eliminating all pixels with the exception of those pixels which comprise spatial codes which represent wedge-shaped regions which extend from a maximum angle up to a prescribed angle. |
