A digital device and a control method thereof are disclosed. The digital device according to an embodiment of a present invention comprises: a decoder for decoding a content stream inputted and extracting time information; a storing unit for storing a motion code; a manager for reading the motion code and transferring the motion code and the time information extracted by the decoder and a control unit for identifying the type of connected device, converting the transferred motion code according to the type of connected device identified, and transmitting the converted motion code to a corresponding device according to the time information. The digital device according to another embodiment of the present invention comprises: a decoder for decoding a content stream inputted and extracting time information; a storing unit for storing a motion code; a manager for reading the motion code from the storing unit and transferring the motion code and the time information extracted by the decoder; and a control unit for identifying the type of connected device, converting the transferred motion code according to the type of connected device, and transmitting the converted motion code to a corresponding device. The control device selects sound samples at predetermined time intervals and filters the intensity of the sampled sound. If the sound intensity is greater than or equal to a predetermined reference value, the control unit determines vibration intensity by combining the sound intensity with at least one among the motion code and the time information, and transmits the result to the corresponding device.
