The welt (10) has a welt base body (12) for edge reinforcement of a stretching textile e.g. plastic tarpaulin, and inserting the edge-reinforced stretching textile into a groove of a welt rail. A folding lip (14) is formed at the welt base body and folded with respect to the welt base body around a folding axis (20), which runs parallel to a welt longitudinal axis. The folding lip protrudes over a side surface of the welt base body in a position with a free end (16), where the folding lip is folded in the position opposite to the welt base body, and the welt is made of resilient material. An independent claim is also included for a welt clamping frame system.
