PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which can be prevented from malfunctioning owing to instantaneous interruption of an AC supply voltage by reducing an inrush current when a recording head begins to be powered on, and stopping the recording device from operating on detecting a power supply short-circuit state of the recording head.SOLUTION: A recording device is provided with a circuit which turns on and off a head supply voltage, a capacitor which stabilizes the head supply voltage, a circuit which charges and discharges the capacitor, and a resistance which suppresses a charging and a discharging current to and from the capacitor. A recording head is powered while the capacitor is charged and the head supply voltage rises. Further, a power supply short circuit state of the recording head is determined by detecting voltages before and after the circuit which turns on and off the head supply voltage respectively. |
