PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which does not damage the natural environment and has high abrasion resistance, excellent surface smoothness, and a stable electric property.SOLUTION: Provided is an electrophotographic photoreceptor in which at least an electric charge generation layer, a hole transfer layer, and a protective layer are laminated on a conductive supporting member in this order, wherein at least an uppermost surface layer of the protective layer is formed of a hole transferring protective layer made from an application liquid containing at least terpene compound. The electrophotographic photoreceptor can be obtained by applying the application liquid containing the terpene compound on the hole transfer layer so as to form the hole transferring protective layer as the protective layer, or applying the application liquid containing the terpene compound on a surface of the used electrophotographic photoreceptor that has lost a part or the entire protective layer after the electrophotographic photoreceptor is used, so as to form the hole transferring protective layer on the uppermost surface layer. |
