PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering apparatus capable of more effectively obtaining a damping effect than that in a conventional structure by reducing vibration to be transmitted to a housing.SOLUTION: In an electric power steering apparatus including an electric motor, a rack shaft arranged parallel to the electric motor and connected between a steering mechanism and a tie rod, a power transmission mechanism for transmitting power from the electric motor to the rack shaft, and a housing containing the rack shaft and the power transmission mechanism, in which the power transmission mechanism is composed of a ball screw mechanism including a ball screw shaft connected to or integrated with the rack shaft and including a male thread groove, and a ball screw nut 15 is rotatably supported on the housing via a rolling bearing 17, an outer ring 17c of the rolling bearing 17 and the housing contact each other via damping members 41 and 42. |
