The rail (1) has a sliding body (3) i.e. slide lining (4), and a carrier body (2) comprising a fastening area (6) for attaching the rail to an internal combustion engine-fixed component. Weak points (13) are formed in material i.e. plastic, of the carrier body along a longitudinal axis (8) of the carrier body, where the weak point causes deformation of the carrier body. The weak points are formed by recesses (9) in the material, where the recesses are distributed at a distance from each other along the longitudinal axis. The recesses are filled with a spring and/or damping element (10).
