DRIVING APPARATUS AND TOP-LOADING TYPE DRUM WASHING MACHINE HAVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A driving apparatus and a top-loading type drum washing machine with the same are provided to match an opening of a drum and an entrance of a case by installing a hole integrated circuit (IC) for detecting the rotation position of a rotor in a cover member when the washing machine stops. CONSTITUTION: A sensing unit is arranged between a cover member (40) and a rotor to detect the position and RPM of a drum. A positioning magnet (86) of the sensing unit is fixed on the outer surface of an outer rotor (70). A hole IC for position detection of the sensing unit faces the positioning magnet and is fixed on the cover member. A hole IC (88) for RPM detection of the sensing unit faces a second magnet (76) of the outer rotor and is fixed on the cover member.
