The data reading unit is in the form of a book sized panel 10 that has an LCD display panel 12. The frame 18 has a plug in point for a memory module that contains the text contents of a book. The memory contents are accessed by a built in micro processor. The frame has a pair of push buttton inputs 14,16 that are used operate the system.
