MAP SIGNAL GENERATING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move a notation symbol at a specified spot position on map information to a displayable position on a desired display which can be made by moving a map signal generation range and a symbol integrated with the position on a map. SOLUTION: At a symbol Sv indicates the current position and moving direction of a vehicle V on an actual road Si during its travel. A moving map display is outlined with a 4-directional arrow A1 and a two-directional (opposite direction) arrow A2 . The arrow A1 indicates that a map display M moves on a monitor screen MS in a parallel direction on the basis of the symbol Sv while the vehicle V is traveling in an area drawn in the map display M along Si . The arrow A2 indicates that the map display M rotates on the monitor screen MS around the symbol Sv and the map changes in azimuth or direction when the vehicle turns. Specially, while the symbol Sv if fixed at the place shown in the map display M during the travel of the vehicle V, only the map display M shifts in parallel or in the turning direction.
