An air to air refuelling drogue assembly comprising a reception coupling (1) and a drogue canopy (2) connected to the reception coupling (1) by connection means (3) which hold the canopy (2) in an operative, drag producing, position relative to the reception coupling (1) during refuelling, wherein the drogue assembly is arranged to controllably fail so as to reduce the drag load produced by the drogue when a drag load on the canopy exceeds a predetermined threshold.
