PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve in on-screen display(OSD) by displaying the OSD, which is processed by a digital signal processing part inside a set box, on a screen together with an analog broadcasting signal. SOLUTION: A mixing circuit 114 receives an OSD signal supplied from an OSD buffer 111 and a digital padding signal supplied from a switch 202 and mixes pixel data in the OSD signal and the digital padding signal based on position information contained in the OSD signal. At a transparency indicator 40, it is judged whether or not pixels in the OSD signal converted by an NTSC/ PAL encoder 116 belong to the real OSD. Corresponding to a control signal CS3 from the indicator 40, a switch 117 selects either a video signal from a composite video signal processing circuit 108 or the converted OSD signal from the NTSC/PAL encoder 116 by pixel unit.
