PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost optical device in which a driver IC is cooled by utilizing air generated by the rotations of a polygon mirror and it is not necessary to add any member dedicated to heat radiation. SOLUTION: This device is constituted by having a polygon motor 2 provided with a polygon mirror 3 and a motor 4 for driving this mirror to rotate, a driver IC for driving the polygon motor 2, and a substrate 1 for mounting the driver IC 5. In this case, the driver IC 5 is arranged while being raised in respect to the substrate 1, and arranged on the passage of air 6 generated by the rotations of the polygon mirror 3. It is better to arrange the driver IC 5 so that its center in height direction can be lower than the center of the polygon mirror 3 in height direction. It is better to set the angle of the driver IC 5 so that the air generated by the rotations of the polygon mirror 3 can be vertically blown to the driver IC 5. |
