PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system which starts connection of wireless communication at a desirable timing when a host apparatus and a peripheral apparatus exchange the information required for wireless communication by wired connection. SOLUTION: In the wireless communication system 1 including the host apparatus 10 and the peripheral apparatus 20 which communicate with each other by both wireless and wired connection, the host apparatus 10 and peripheral apparatus 20 exchange the specific information for specifying the communication partner by wired communication before starting wireless communication when wireless communications are performed, and the peripheral apparatus 20 starts wireless communication when a state permitting wireless communication is brought about after the specific information is exchanged.
