PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new digital still camera which is submoniature and is excellent in portability. SOLUTION: This is a digital still camera where a lens part, an image pickup element, a display part, and a battery part are integrated into a casing, and a memory card for recording an image is inserted and extracted from one flank on the short side of the casing. The short side of the casing is set to be approximately equal to the width of the memory card. A display magnifier is arranged in the display. This display magnifier is free of mounting and removal to the camera body, and the user can mount it to see only when needed, and can remove it at disuse, avoiding unnecessary enlargement.
