The present invention relates to an apparatus for improving water quality, specifically to an apparatus for improving water quality with UV sterilization function for sterilizing closed stream water such as lakes dams ponds etc. by using ultraviolet ray. The apparatus comprises: a float which is floating on the water; a UV source equipped on the float for irradiating UV for microorganism sterilization; a controller equipped on the float for controlling the operation of the UV source; and a solar cell installed on the upper surface of the float for supplying power for the operations of controller and UV source by converting the sun light to electric power. The apparatus can improve water quality with a simple structure, a low cost, and no limitation on installation by sterilizing germs, yeast, and molds in lakes, dams, ponds etc. which has inactive stream of water. In addition, the improvement of the water quality can be maintained by a continuous UV sterilization through supplying the power for operating the UV source after converting the sunlight into the electric power. |
