The invention relates to a process for preparing ostrich oil which is used in the pharmaceutical field. According to the invention, the process consists of the extraction of oil from the ostrich fat, at a temperature of 75...90°C, at a pressure of 21 psi, for 30 min, of the primary purification wherefrom the lower aqueous phase is removed and the lipid phase is treated twice with 50% sodium chloride solution with a concentration of 10...15%, at a temperature of 60...70°C, for 10...30 min, the soap mass is centrifuged at 6000...9000 rpm wherefrom the separated lipid fraction is heated at a temperature of 60...80°C and is treated with 1...2% absorbent material of activated carbon type and afterwards with 1...3 % acid-activated bentonite, while maintaining, after each addition, at the same temperature for 30 min, then the lipid material is heated at a temperature of 160...200°C and a pressure of 1...2 mbar while energetically stirring for 30...60 min, the resulting purified material is cooled in stages, firstly down to a temperature of 20...25°C, for 24...48h, and then down to 15°C whereto it is maintained for 2...4h, after which it is centrifuged at minimum 8000 rpm for 15...20 min, there resulting a semisolid homogenous product with a content of maximum 30% omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids.
|
