This socket terminal (10), which makes a mating-connection with a counterpart pin terminal (20), is equipped with a tube section (13) capable of mating with the pin terminal (20). The tube section (13) is equipped with: a base section (14) which is provided opposite to the side where the tube section begins to mate with the pin terminal (20); and multiple terminal pieces (15) which extend in the axial direction of the tube section (13) from the base section (14) toward the pin terminal (20) and are arranged so as to be spaced from each other in the circumferential direction of the tube section (13). Each terminal piece (15) has an elastic contact section (16B), the tip side of which is folded back toward the inner circumference of the tube section (13) and can be brought into elastic contact with the outer periphery of the pin terminal (20) that is fitted into the tube section (13).
