PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel cell stack that is downsized and has high power generation efficiency.SOLUTION: A solid oxide fuel cell stack has a structure in which cell housing sections and metal separators 25 are alternately laminated. Each cell housing section includes a cell 21, and each metal separator 25 supplies oxidant gas to a cathode of each cell 21 or fuel gas to an anode of the cell 21. Each cell housing section includes: a planar anode-supported cell 21; a cell frame 22 that is made of a planar insulator with a thickness equal to that of the cell 21 and that has in the center thereof a through hole where the cell 21 is housed; and metal foil 23 and 24 that joins the cell 21 and the cell frame 22 together.
