PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a method and a device for mapping and demapping a client signal.SOLUTION: This method comprises: a step (210) of dividing the partial or entire payload area of an optical channel payload unit or an optical channel data tributary unit into several subblocks having a size of N bites of 1 bite or more; and a step (220) of mapping N bites as granularity and mapping a client signal, that is waiting to be transmitted, to a subblock in the payload area. When performing client signal mapping, the technical solution employed in an embodiment uses a mapping block for performing the block mapping of a client signal. Consequently, complexity of client signal mapping is reduced, and requirements of multi-rate service are satisfied. |
