PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide vaccines in the field for protecting against polio, and in particular to provide combination vaccines for protecting against polio, diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis diseases.SOLUTION: A composition contains a specific amount of each of inactivated poliovirus type 1 (Mahoney), inactivated poliovirus type 2 (MEF-1), and inactivated poliovirus type 3 (Saukett). The use of the composition is also provided. In a vaccine, the inactivated poliovirus is adsorbed to aluminum phosphate or aluminum hydroxide or their mixture. Further, in a vaccine, a component protective against other virus is adsorved. |
