An operating mode change method of a wireless LAN system and a wireless LAN system are disclosed. An operating mode change method of a wireless LAN system according to one embodiment includes a step for transmitting an operating mode change request including at least one of information about traffic indication map (TIM) mode change to an access point (AP), request for change of a power parameter, and information about STA service type change; a step for receiving an operating mode change response frame including at least one of information of AID reallocated, power save parameter changed, and TIM mode allowed by the AP; and a step for changing at least one of the TIM mode and the power save parameter based on information included in the operating mode change response frame.
