<p>[Problem] To provide a medical instrument having excellent operability, the medical instrument being configured so that the gripping section can be satisfactorily delivered within a living organism and so that the medical instrument can collect biological tissue present within the wall of a biological organ. [Solution] A medical instrument is provided with: a long member (40) provided with joint members (60) arranged side by side in the axial direction, the long member (40) forming a first configuration when the joint members are arranged side by side with axial gaps provided therebetween, the first configuration enabling the long member (40) to bend in the direction intersecting the axial direction, the long member (40) also forming a rigid second configuration when the distance between the joint members is reduced in the axial direction to a distance less than the distance in the first configuration; a gripping section (10) capable of gripping an object to be gripped; and a first push-pull member (21) and a second push-pull member (22), the first and second push-pull members (21, 22) being capable of moving along the axial direction of the long member. Operating the first push-pull member and the second push-pull member enables the long member to be switched between the first configuration enabling the bending operation and the rigid second configuration, and also enables the opening and closing operation of the gripping section.</p> |
