Disclosed is a tensioning element (1) for fixing the fracture ends of the bones in a bone fracture, said element comprising a contoured body that is hollow when viewed from above and that has a continuous wall (6). The contoured body has two receiving sections (8a, 8b) lying opposite one another and located on end faces, for receiving fastening means that can be inserted through the contoured body and has two lateral flanks comprising flexible sections (10). The continuous wall (6) of the contoured body is elastically deformable, at least in part, in the region of the end face receiving sections (8a, 8b) and in the region of the lateral flexible sections (10). In addition, a defined elastic behaviour is instilled into the tensioning element (1) by means of the flexible sections (10) in such a way that a predetermined tension can be produced between the receiving sections (8a, 8b). According to the invention, the contoured body has at least one articulation (2, 4) for compensating and distributing tension peaks, said at least one articulation (2, 4) lying in the region of the continuous wall (6). |
