Intervertebral fusion implant

The implant (1) has an intermediate piece (6) designed as a claw coupling, which couples two bearing bodies (2, 3) against each other in a coupled position in a torque proof manner. The bearing bodies are freely moved against each other in an open position of the claw coupling. A plastic locking body holds the claw coupling in an initial position in an opened manner. The locking body is slowly deformed under a load force transferred from a vertebra (52) to another vertebra (54) until reaching a final coupled position in which the claw coupling is closed. An independent claim is also included for a system comprising an intervertebral fusion implant.
