<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine including an exhaust emission control device excellent in exhaust emission control properties retaining a shape of the engine itself and facilitating replacement of a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: This engine 100 includes an exhaust emission control device 10 disposed at a middle part of an exhaust gas passage. In the exhaust emission control device 10, a catalyst 23 for exhaust emission control is disposed at an exhaust manifold 5 forming a part of the exhaust gas passage providing communication between a cylinder head 3 and a muffler 6, and a secondary catalyst 42 for exhaust emission control is disposed at a downstream side, a opening part 11b large enough for the catalyst for exhaust emission control to be inserted therein is formed on a side surface, the opening part 111b can be closed by a cover 21, and the catalyst 23 for exhaust emission control is integrally fixed on the cover 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
