A chair according to the present invention comprises: a back frame including an opening opened in front and rear directions, and installation groove parts respectively slit up and down in inside end parts of left and right sides of the opening; and a lumbar support device which is made of soft synthetic resin-based material capable of transformation caused by external force, and of which both end parts are inserted into and coupled with the installation groove parts so as to cross the opening in left and right directions, wherein the lumbar support device is coupled along the installation groove parts such that a height can be adjusted up and down. According to the present invention, the material of the lumbar support device is soft synthetic resin-based material, and the areas of a middle part and both end parts of the lumbar support device for supporting lumbar vertebrae are different from each other. As a result, lumbar vertebrae of a user can be directly supported with a small number of parts, a number of components can be reduced by simplifying a structure, and assembly characteristics can be improved. Also, the shape of a part being in contact with the lumbar vertebrae of a user in the lumbar support device is deformed to improve lumbar support effects and comfort, and operation noise is generated during height adjustment of the lumbar support device such that operation feeling is improved by enabling a user to easily recognize a currently-adjusted height by a sense of hearing, thereby improving use convenience. |
