PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can keep high display quality even when being used for a long period of time.SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal display panel including a liquid crystal composition exhibiting a blue phase, heating means which can heat the liquid crystal composition is provided near the liquid crystal composition. As the heating means, a heating unit is provided near the liquid crystal composition, and a control means (control circuit) controlling the heating unit is provided. The heating unit and control unit are provided inside or outside the liquid crystal display panel, respectively.
