PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system capable of obtaining original data having high reusability from a printed matter having memo writing added.SOLUTION: An image forming system comprises: a first storage unit for storing target data specified as a target of image processing in association with target data identification information identifying the target data; combined data generation unit for generating combined data formed by adding the target data identification information to the target data; an image formation unit for forming an image of the combined data; a reading unit for reading a document having the image of the combined data formed thereon to obtain read data; an extraction unit for extracting the target data identification information added to the combined data, from the read data; and a target data output unit for outputting the target data associated with the target data identification information extracted by the extraction unit and stored in the first storage unit.
