PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for compressing images.SOLUTION: This method for compressing images includes a step for calculating a total bit size required for compressing any partial line and a theoretical bit size required for any partial, a step for selecting a quantization parameter used for compressing the partial and a compression model and calculating an actual bit size required for compressing the partial using the selected quantization parameter and compression model, in each partial existing in any partial line, a step for allocating surplus bit sizes in one or a plurality of simple partials to one or a plurality of complicated partials in the partial line and selecting the quantization parameter and compression model used for compressing each complicated partial again, in the partial line, and a step for compressing each partial of the partial line using the selected quantization parameter and compression model. |
