PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving display quality.SOLUTION: There is provided a liquid crystal display device which comprises: a first substrate including a switching element disposed in each pixel, a common electrode formed over a plurality of pixels, an insulating film which is disposed on the common electrode and has a first upper surface and a second upper surface projected from the first upper surface, a pixel electrode which is electrically connected to the switching element and formed in each pixel on the insulating film and has an electrode part which is located on the first upper surface and faces the common electrode and a slit which is located on the second upper surface and faces the common electrode, and a first alignment layer for covering the electrode part and the second upper surface; a second substrate comprising a second alignment film facing the first alignment film; and a liquid crystal layer held between the first alignment film of the first substrate and the second alignment film of the second substrate. |
