摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide diamond abrasive grains, whose reactivity with iron is reduced, and a method for producing the diamond abrasive grains, slurry including the diamond abrasive grains, and fixed abrasive grain type wire.SOLUTION: Polycrystalline diamond abrasive grains consist of a polycrystalline diamond, which includes no binder and has the crystal grain size of less than 1 &mu;m, an average secondary particle diameter is 1 to 200 &mu;m, and a phosphorus content is 0.001 to 3 mass%. A production method of the polycrystalline diamond abrasive grains includes: a step to sinter a carbon material, to which phosphorus of 0.001 to 3 mass% is added, at a pressure of 12 GPa or more and a temperature of 1,500°C or more without using any binder and thereby converting the carbon material directly into diamond to obtain the polycrystalline diamond having a crystal grain size of <1 &mu;m; and a step to work the polycrystalline diamond in such a way that an average secondary particle diameter thereof gets to be 1 to 200 &mu;m.
